Samuel was born in Pennsylvania, but by the age of twenty he and his two brothers and parents had moved to Baltimore, Maryland. Samuel and his father were machinists, but all the brothers joined dad and became agricultural implement makers. William H set up business at 10 Valley and stayed there. Samuel and his father moved around a lot. Brother Joseph moved into carpentry. [Could the moving around mean they were out at job sites?]
